BREACHES OF AWARDS.

By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, September 9. The Arbitration Court was o-cupied this morning in hearing breaches of awards. George Rendell was fined £5 with inspector's, costs for a breach of the painter's award in not paying his men for an extra quarter-hour on a country job. Scott Bros., contractors for the new dock, were fined £5 and inspector's costs for failing to pay overtime to two carpenters, D. Jones and S. Forbes. The two carpenters in question were each fined £1 and costs for neglecting to complain. Charles King, for failing to pay set wages to a boy employed as carter, was fined £1 with costs. Allan Johnston, for a breach of the carter's award by failing to give a week's notice to an employee, was fined £3 and costs. W. J. Smith, for a bveaeh of the butcher's award, in employing too many boys, was fined £2 and costs. Bentley and Abbott, painters, were mulcted in a fine of £2 for failing to pay for time occupied in travelling to work. The employees in question were each fined 20s for failing to make a claim. John Lunn, builder, for failing to indenture an apprentice, was fined £2. K. Grimmett, John Lunn and Charles kill's, for employing nonunionists, were ordered to pay costs.
