Received Spetember 9, 8.44 a.m. LONDON, September 8. At a swimming meeting at Manchester, C. M. Daniels, of New York, won the 100 yards championship in 42 2-ssec (?), establishing a record. Received September 10, 12.26 a.m. SYDNEY, September 9. Doubts are expressed as to the cabled time of Daniels' swim. It is considered probable that tha actual time was 55 2-ssec. (Last year, at Richmond, Daniels swam 100 yards in tha record time of 57 3-ssec).
