A MISSING CHINESE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, September 6. Last year George How Chow, a wealthy Chinese who was married to a European, left with his family on a trip to China, intending to stay some time. The family, not caring for the change, retu-ned to Gisborne, but the husband, having invested his funds there, remained to realise. How Chow, failing subsequently to return, his wife revisited Hongkong, having meantime received disquieting news. All efforts to find her husband failed, and it is feared that he met wita foul play by lawless bands. Mrs How Chow returned to Gisborne with her son, aged 11,. who had been placed in a college in Hongkong.
