Received September 5, 10.34 p.m. MOROCCO, September 5. The battle on Tuesday was the biggest yet fought at Casablanca. Eight thousand Arabs, singing and shouting, advanced with great courage, despite the heavy fire from the ships. Algerian cavalry were employed to entire the Arabs close to the infantry, wno played havoc with them. For three hours the Arabs advanced, retreated, and advanced again, losing many, b"t carrying off the dead.

The Commander of the Foreign Legation, two officers, and • seven men were killed and seventeen wounded.
