FAIRVIEW RIFLE CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Fairview Rifle Club was held in the Fernridge School-room on Tuesday evening last. There were about twelve members present, and the chair was occupied by Mr D. McGregor. The balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed a dr. balance of £1 14s lid. The Chairman considered this result satisfactory in view of the fact that the sum of £1 lis lid had been expended during the season in a target shed. Officers for the enruing year were elected as follow: —President. Mr H. Holmes; Vice-Presidents, Messrs H. Perry, H. Henderson, and B. J. Dolan; Captain, Mr D. senr.; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr R. J. Dagg; General Committee, Messrs J. Dagg, W. Harcombe, J. Stempa, T. Chamberlain, H. Evans, and R. McGregor. A vute of thanks was accorded to Mr W. Winslace for acting as \ honorary handicapper to the club, J and it was decided to ask him to act in a similar capacity this year. A resolution was passed granting the Fernridge School Cadets the use of the club's range at a charge of one shilling per head, the amount obtained in this manner to be refunded in the way of trophies. It was resolved to hold a social in the Fernridge" 1 School at the end of the season at which the presentation of prizes .will take place. TKe annual-subscription was fixed at 7s 6d for this year, and it was resolved to debar members from competing for trophies until their subscriptions had been paid. It was decided to engage outside markers for all this season's matches.
