The court-martial reprimanded Captain Browning for default in connection with the stranding of the battleship Commonwealth, but dismissed the charge of negligence. (The battleship Commonwealth grounded on a rock in Lam lash Bay, in the Isle of Arran, starting some of the rivets in the bottom amidships.
