OBITUARY.
HON. W. W. JOHNSON. By Telegraph | Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 2. The Hon. Walter W. Johnson died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, aged tSB. He had been ill fron influenza for three weeks. The deceased arrived in the colony v/ith his parents, in 1841. He was a son of the late Hon. John Johnson, who held office in the Stafford Ministry, and founded the firm of Johnson and Co., in Wellington. The la f e Mr Walter Johnson was Postmaster-General and Commissioner or Telegraphs in the Hall Ministry until 1882, when he became Minister of Public Works, Post-master-General, and Commissioner of Telegraphs in the Whittaker Ministry. = He was also a member of the Atkinson Ministry, and formerly held .a seat on the Bank of New Zealand Directorate. %
