METEOROLOGICAL.

Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered o.i the Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Saturday was 4 points. Rain fell on the Upper Plain on twenty days in August: maximum in 24 hours, 62 points on the 20th and 50 points on the 23rd; minimum, 1 point on the 24th and 26th. The total for the mouth was 2.73 inches, as against 4.61 inches, 2.05 inches, and 1.74 inches for August 1904, 1905, and 1906 respectively. The total for the eight months was 41.10 inches as against 27.99 inches, 28.73 inches, and 31.13 inches for corresponding periods in 1904, 1905, and 1906.
