CARTERTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friday. * The local High School broke up for "the term holiday, of one week, toJ day. The annual examination of the school also concluded to-day. The fortnightly meeting of the Fnrpßt.p.rs'Xoffoe was held, on Thursday the Foresters' Hall. Bro. A. F. Pink, C.R., presided. A communication was received from the Secretary of the Carterton United Friendly Secieties, accompanied by copies of resolutions passed at the terminating meeting held recently. The members decided to take part in the sDorts to be h»ld on Boxing Day. The following delegates were appointed to the Sports : .Bros. Callender, Campbell, Jackson, .De Laeey, Davidson, and Smith. A card tournament, played on Thursday, between the Druids and JForebters' Lodges, resulted in a win for the Druids by five games.
