VALEDICTORY.

PRESENTATIONS TO MISS" K. ROBINS. A pleasant social gathering was. held in St. Matthew's Church Schoolroom, yesterday, the object of the> gathering being to bid farewell toMiss Kathleen Robins, who is shortly to undertake the work of the Maori Mission among the native women and children of Wairarapa. The Rev. A. M. Johnson presided, and spoke of the work Miss Robins had done in connection with St. Matthew's Sunday School, and other organisations, and of the work that lay before her. He presented her on behalf of the Sunday School with a leather writing cas2, and a leather inkstand and purse, as mementos of the close ties that had bound her to the school, and as tokens of their esteem.

Master John Pinbey, on behalf of Miss Robins' class, gave her a brooch and toilet-table ornament. Miss L. Robinson, on Miss Robins' behalf, thanked the donors of the gifts. Mr T. Proctor also spoke a few words of congratulation and encouragement. The teachers of the school and the members of the Senior Girls' Bible Class provided . refreshments under the superintendence of Mrs Fannin. A recitation was given by Miss Briden. and songs were rendered by Mr Snelgrove, Miss Keeble, E. Ewington, M. Robins, N. Robins and others.
