CONGO ATROCITIES.

A CONVICTION QUASHED. Rsceived August 29, 7.13 a.m. iIONDON, August 28. According to a telegram received from a missionary in the Congo, the Court of Appeal at Boma quashed the conviction of the Rev. Edgar Stannard for libelling Major Hagstrom, Belgian Police Commandant at Bassankusu; in connection with Belgian atrocities. Mr Stannard was convicted in July, 1906, and ordered to pay a fine of 1,000 francs.
