DOMINION RIFLE MEETING.
SUCCESS OF AUSTRALIAN MARKSMEN. Received August 29, 7.25 a.m. OTTAWA. August 28. In connection with the Dominion Rifle Association matches, Colonel Huihes, the president, gave a luncheon to the officers. Earl Grey, Governor-Genial, referred to the importance, from an Imperial standpoint, of the attendance of British, Australian, and! Newfoundland teams, whom -Sir F. W. Borden (Minister for Defence and Militia) also welcomed. ' Sir F. W. Borden added that he hoped every schoolboy in Canada over thirteen years of age would soon have a rifle and equipment, and receive training "in marksmanship. Four Australians won places in the Dominion match prize list. Motton, of Queensland, With 67 out of a possible 70, secured second prize.
