SAD CASE OF SUICIDE.
* By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, August 28. John Pritchard, a married man, 78 years of age, committed, suicide at Waikiwi to-day by blowing the top of his head off with a gun. The deceased was a small farmer and had been in ill-health. At the inquest the evidence showed that the deceased suffered from cardiac asthma. A pitiful letter written by the deceased was put in, in which it was stated that he was in his right mind, and in great suffering, beyond the power of any doctor in the world to cure. He was "studying to end it." A verdict was returned that the deceased shot himself, there being no evidence of foul play.
