CARTERTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tuesday. The fortnightly meeting of the Rechabite Lodge was held last evening, Bro, W. Tucker, D.R., presiding. One member was reported to be v | ■on the sick list. Bro. L. Pearce I was appointed in place of Bro. Tyler on [the committee to act with the Masterton Tent in connection with conference matte-s. Other routine business was dealt with. The sum of £5,914 was paid out yesterday by the Dalefield Dairy Company, which will be the final payment for past season. Arrangements for the Rover ball to be held shortly are well in hand. | A meeting of the Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held in the Foresters' Hall, last evening. There was a good attendance of members present and Bro. J. Nkholls, A.D., was in the chair. It .was decided to xeturn card tournament, Druids v. Foresters, next Thursday evening. Bros. Johnston, Stove, Martin, McKenzie and Nicholls were appointed to the committee*of Friendly Societies Sports. * I regret to have to record the death of Mrs West, wife of Mr M. T. West, manager of the Dale)field Dairy Factory, which occurred last night. The late Mrs West had been ailing for some months, and a short time ago took a trip to Taranaki for the benefit of her health. There she became seriously ill and returned home. The cause of death was heart disease. At the residence of the bride's parents, at Ahiakouke, on Monday, Miss Hilda Sarah Williams, daughter of the late Mr Henry Franklin Williams, was married to Mr James Hebley, second son of Mi Hebley, senr., of Greytown.
