N OTICS is hereby given of the intention of the Council of tbe above County, with the consent of the ratepayers, to raise a special loan under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901." The work to.be undertaken is forming and metalling that portion of the Mask-rton-Waimata Road in the Whakataki Valley from tha made road in Section 760, Block YIF., to the formed portion of the said road in Section 371, Block VIII., Castlepoint S. Distriot, a distance of thrte miles approximately. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £2OOO, for a period of 41 years, bearirjg interest at 3j percent, per annum, and to meet interest and other charges on the loan a special xate of j.-20th of a penny in the pound will be made on the unimproved value of nil rateable property in the County, and it is proposed to pay the costs of raising the loan and the first year's interest oiu of tbe loan.
