CARTERTON.

(From Own Correspondent.)

,Saturday. A most enjoyable social, organised by the congregation of the local Presbyterian Church was held in St. Mtrk's Schoolroom last evening. A number of items were rendered by the choir, and local singers. The accompaniments were played by Mr W. Moore, choirmaster of the church. -Refreshments were provided. HfcAt a meeting of railway employees, held at the Carterton Railway Station, last evening, it was decided that the next annual railway social and dance should be held at Carterton. Mr Wright was appointed secretary to carry cut the necessary arrangements, and a committee was appointed to assist him.
