WAIRARAPA AND EAST COAST P. AND A. SOCIETY.
(From Our Carterton Correspondent.) Friday. The General Committee of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society met at 11.30 o'clock, this morning, twenty members being present. Correspondence was read from the Masterton A. and P. Association relative to farming competitions. It was resolved to suggest that a meeting should be called for Wednesday next to be held at Masterton. Mr Colin Campbell was appointed delegate to represent the Society at the Ram Fair. A communication was received from the Auckland A. and P. Association asking that delegates should be appointed to represent the Wairarapa ?and Masterton Agricultural Societies on the|Executive Council of the Conference of A. and P. Associations. It was resolved to ask the Masterton A. and P. Association to appoint a sub-committee of five membex*s to act. with a similar committee from the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society with a view to selecting a representative. Mr Beetham, the Society's representative at the National Sheepbreeders' Conference, wrote from London in connection with conference matters. Two new members were elected. The Treasurer's statement was placed before the meeting, showing a debit balance of £195. Outstanding subscriptions, etc., amounted to £2B. Accounts amounting to £3 were passed for payment. The report of the sub committee appointed to include classes in the Society's schedule for school agricultural plots was read to the meeting, and adopted. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Messrs W. C. Buchanan and H. R. Bunny for donating a challenge shield for competition among the schools.
