EVICTED TEHANTS BILL. •Received August 22, 8.38 a.m. LONDON* August 21. Tte Jlouse of Commons had an allnight -siting discussing- the Evicted Tenants Bill. It disagreed with several of (the amendments wade by the House of jLords, notably . that limiting the number of evicted tenants. The Government agreed t© restrict the operatioo of the Act to four years, instead of three, for the acquisition of land and tfeg determination <& tenancies. DECEASED WIFE'S SISTER BILL, Received August 22, 7.50 a.m. LONDON, August 21. The House of Lords, by 111 votes to 79, read a second time the Deceased Wife's Sister Bill. Seventeen bishops voted with the minority. The Archbishop of Canterbury' insisted that there was no popular demand for the Bill. Lord James of Hereford and Lord Loreburn (Lord Chancellor) supported the measure.
