THE STRIKES AT BELFAST.
LONDON, August 16. The Under-Secretary for Ireland, Sir Antony MacdcnneH, speakingat Belfast, eulogised the magnanimity of the master carriers in facing temporary loss, and. added that the merchants, would treat them liberally. A settlement of the coalmen's and dockers' strike is apparently about to be effected. The carters at Belfast have resumed work.
