This is interpreted to mean that Mrs Levin was attacked soon after she entersd the room. The third unused class was placed for her to drink. Lord Balfour of Burleigh moved an amendment equivalent to rejection of the Bill. Received August 15, 9.54 p.m. LONDON, August 15. In the House of Lords, Lord Balfour of Burleigh withdrew his amendment to the Scottish Small-holdings Bill in favour of the Marquis of Lansdowne's proposal to adjourn the debate on the second reading until the Lords considered the English Land Bill.

This course was agreed to by a large majority despite the Marquis of Ripons' vehement protest against the unprecedented treatment of a Government measure. TRANSVAAL GUARANTEE LOAN BILL. Received August 15, 7.37 a.m. LONDON, August 14. In the House of Commons Mr Winston Churchill, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, introduced the Transvaal Guarantee Loan Bill.
