(From Our Own Correspondent.) Monday. The following is the number of ! marks obtained by scholars attending the Carterton Methodist Sunday School, who recently sat for the annual scripture examinations held in connection with the Wellington Sunday School Union: —Grade II.: Levenia Fensham 42. Grade IV.: Pearl Mansfield and Fenton Butler, 60 mark? each. Grade VI.: Thelma Elliott, 48; Maurice Lumley, 53. Second-class certificates will be awarded to Pearl Mansfield and Fenton Butler, and third-class certificates to Maurice Lumley and Thelma Elliott. Preparations on a largo scale are being made for a "Pinafore Social" to be held shortly in connection with Mr W. Bannin's dancing class. The Belvedere dairy factory will re-open for the season on September 2nd. Cook's Pictures showed before a fair audience on Saturday night at Victoria Hail.
