THE SITUATION AT RABAT.

The native authorities have formed a band of 550 volunteers to defend the walls, but that number will be inadequate in the event of a serious attack. (Rabat is a seaport. The stench from the corpses at •Casablanca is so bad that the air is foetid for a mile off the coast. It will foe necessary to burn the corpses still tanburied. The French Admiralty thanked Msss Spinney, a sister of the Consul at Maryagan, for nursing the Casablanca wounded. Fighting outside the town is almost continuous, fbe by dauntless valour repelling and driving off great hordes of tribes. The latter were decimated while boldly advancing on the artillery and Maxims.
