THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM.

The professional Rugby footballers for England have not yet ;made the final selection of their touring team, but the fifteen members selected from Wellington and Canterbury left Wellington for Sydney this evening to join the steamer for England after playing matches in Sydney. The names supplied by Mr Baskiville, the Secretary of the New Zealand Club, are as followPearce, Turtill, Lavery, McGregor (Canterbury), Wrigley (Masterton), A. H. Baskiville. R. Galium, E. Lile, D. Gilchrist, E. Watkins (Wellington), Cross, Byrne, Wright, Tyne rsr.d Kelly (Petone). The final sole-don will be made in Sydney, and it is said to be on the cards that more than one of the amateur "All Blacks" will yet join the professionals. It is also stated that a prominent five-eighth back of Wanganui and another player from Masterton will be available to follow on from New Zealand if required to fill vacancies.

Wynyard, H. Rowe, W. Tyler, W. Trevarthen, and W. H. Mackrell, all of Auckland. Some additions will probably yet be made. A conference of delegates representing the New South Wales, Queensland, and New Zealand Rugby Unions has opened. A match will be played on the Showgrounds, to-day, between teams representing the Bank and Law Clerks, and the Stock Agents and Merchants' Clerks of Masterton. In the evening the winning team will be entertained by the losers at a dinner in the Central Hotel. !
