Following up Mr Field's rsmarks at the paying over of the stakes, in connection with the recent sculling match, to W. Webb, Mr Corby, manager for Webb, informed the •press that several New Zealanders were prepared to make a private match between Webb and Charles Towns for £2,000 aside. THE QUIRINDI MURDER. A violent shock of earthquake, lasting 15secs, was experienced at Warragul, and caused considerable consternation.
