A HEAVY FINE. Received August 5, 8.40 a.m. NEW YORK, August 4. Judge Landis delivered a judgment imposing a fine on the Standard Oil Trust of 29,240.000 dollars. He recommended that proceedings be taken against the Chicago-Alton Railway Company, and .scathingly denounced Mr J. D. Rockefeller. (Judge Landis has been on the bench since March, 1905. The Oil Trust and other companies have been pilloried in connection with illegal railway rebates, which gave them a "pull" over rivals.)
