TARATAHI DAIRY COMPANY, LIMITED.
The following is the annual report of the Directors of the Taratahi Dairy Company, Ltd.:—The amount of milk received this season is 4,178,14511)3, being 167,8741bs in excess-of last year. The butter-fat amounted to 160,5301b5, the milk showing a per centage of 3.84, and produced 413,6311bs of cheese, equal to 184| tons. Each pound of but-ter-fat made an average of 2.571bs of cheese. The past .season has been a highly satisfactory one, enabling us to pay milk suppliers at the rate of thirteen pence farthing per pound butter-fat value over the whole season, writing off ten per cent, for depreciation from plant and buildings, and providing a dividend at the rate of 6 per cent, on the paid up capital. The whole of the season's cheese had been graded as first-class, and our Manager, Mr A. McKenize, is to be congratulated upon having again secured the highest awards at this year's Winter Dairy Show at Palmerston North, against many competing factories from the North and South Islands, and tying j for a Special Cup Prize with a South- \ em factory. The new brick curing j room has proved satisfactory, and a ' low temperature has been maintained even in the hottest weather. Owing ' to the impossibility of obtaining fire- \ wood at a satisfactory price, we have ' substituted coal for getting up ! steam, and the result warrants its i use again in the coming season, j Two Directors, Messrs A. Daysh and '. C. Reid, retire in accordance with the j rules and are eligible for re-election, j You will also be called upon to appoint an auditor. j
