MADAME TERESA CARRENO.
Madame Teresa Carreno will give a reciial here on Wednesday next. A contemporary says:—"lt is well recognised by all connoisseurs that this L. lady, who has been induced by|Herr Eenno Scherek to visit New Zealand, has long held a unique position among the leading pianists of the day. Not only is she a player of marvellous power, superseding most male executants, but her genius is universal, so far as pianoforte music is concerned. She interprets every composer with equal facility. Moreover, she has an abundance of that rare artistic quality known as "temparament," and there is a magnetism about her personality which gives har quite a magic sway ;©v.er all kinds of audiences. She interests the thoroughly diffident and most difficult to please." The bcxplan is now open at the Dresden Piano Company.
