A PROTEST AGAINST ANONYMITY.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l have noticed a number of letters in jour columns of late by writers who apparently seek shelter behind the hedge of anonymity. They certainly show a decent regard for Angol-Saxon names by declining to affix them to their often bolsteredup defences. This is the sort of opposition the Leaguers have to fight; these cuttle-fish correspondents, who rush into print, are traitors to their fellow creatures, and their shame is never so manifest as when we find such nom de plumes as "Anti-Bun-kum," "No More Chow," etc., at the bottom of some senseless scribble, vainly seeking to point out some hidden virtue in their own political opinions. In conclusion if "AntiBunkum" is a man, a white man, let him disclose his identity, and then we shall observe what we shall observe.—l am, etc., G. WHYTE. Manaia, Masterton, August 1, 1907.
