PACIFIC CABLE BOARD. Received July 30, 7.25 a.m. LONDON. July 29. Sir Henry Primrose has been appointed Chairman of the Pacific Cable Board, in succession to the late Sir Spencer Walpole. MR KEIR HARDIE. Received July 30, 10 a.m. LONDON, July 29. Reutcr states that while lecturing on Socialism at Winnipeg, Mr Keir Hardie's hat, vest, and tobacco-pouch were stolen. GREEK BANDS EXTERMINATING BULGARS. Received July 30, 10.30 a.m. ATHENS, July 29. Ton Greek bands, equipped by wealthy Greeks, with the Government's connivance, and commanded by Greek army officers, are systematically exterminating Bulgars, in order to include the Monastir, Seres, and Kavalla districts within the Greek national sphere. The Porte has energetically protested against the Greeks' action. LONDON DOCKS. Received July 30. 9 a.m. LONDON, July 29. It is reported that the Right Hon. D. Lloyd-George, President of the Board of Trade, next session proposes to municipalise the London docks. THE RAND MINERS. Received July 30, 13.50 p.m. CAPETOWN, July 30 ; The mine-owners on the Rand declare that while they have agreed to re-engage skilled machine men at exceptionally good wages, they have not conceded anything regarding the number of machines each supervises. They will merely re-engage as many strikers as possible. Many men still remain unemployed. The Government offers them prospectors' licenses.
