FATALITY AT A MINE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WHANGAREI, July 29. In the Kiripaka coal mine on Saturday afternoon, a line of skips by some means was detached from the wire cable, dashed down the incline, and crashed into William Bentali, a young unmarried man, who was working at the bottom of the incline, overwhelming him in the wreckage. Bentali was unconscious when extricated, and his head was fearfully cut about and one wrist was broken. He was apparently also injured internally. After surgical attendance had been given Bentali was brought into Whangarei Hospital in the evening, but died before arrival.
