CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Pembroke Street is receiving a much needed coat of metal. | A plain and fancy dress ball, organised by the bachelors of Clareville, was held in the public hall on Fridayjevening. The function was a complete success in every way. Messrs C. Reid, W. Fisher, L. Seivers, and P. Reid carried out the duties of M's.C. and extras were played by Mrs August, Misses Sievers and Simpson. An excellent supper was provided by Mr R. Everr.den. The hall funds will benefit to the extent of £6 or £7.
