JAPANESE TROOPS LANDED

The Japanese Resident General, the Marquis Ito, has presented Japan's proposals to the Korean Cabinet. Although they do not interfere with'the security of the throne, they are be--~ijjffied to be of a revolutionary mPSre, owing to the consternation prevailing at the Court. After considerable opposition on the part of the Korean Court, the new Japanese-Korean Convention has j. been signed, placing the Korean adBpninistration under the guidance of the Japanese Resident - General, who is authorised to appoint his nominees to all the responsible positions.
