WOOLWICH ARSENAL.
FURTHER REDUCTIONS PROPOSED. Received July 26, 8.23 a.m. LONDON, July 25. It is the intention of the Secretary for War, the Right Hon. R. B. Haldane, to further reduce the Arsenal personnel by 3,000 men, making 8,000 the maximum peace strength, whereas the strength was formerly 15.000. . The proposal has cause indignation at Woolwich. The engineers demanded a strike, which the leaders overruled. The workmen are now appealing to the Labour members of Parliament.
