RICKARDS' VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.
The vaudeville company sent to New Zealand by Mr Harry Rickards, which will open at the Town Hall on Monday evening next, exce's any that have preceded it, judgin ; from the reputations possessed by : uch stars as Charlene and Charlene, Fred Russell, King and Benson, and Cassie Walmer. Of the Charlenes a southern journal say?:—"They are two in number, a lady and a gentleman, and they give a striking performance. Charlene himself is a leger-de-main artist of consummate ability, and his feats are accomplished with a cleanness, a finish and an apparent ease that add not a little to their effect. His cleverness provoked a furore of enthusaism. A truly dazzling and startling feat, which created a sensation, was that in which Charlene juggled with flaring torches, keeping them turning and gyrating in mid-air. Madame Charlene is an accomplished musician, and probably th.3 most skilled executant on the xylophone seen in the colony." The box plans are now on view at Misa Rive's, where seats may be reserved.
