EGG-LAYING.
UTILITY CLUB'S COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 22. The official report of the Utility Poultry Club's Egg-laying Competition, at Lincoln College shows that 1,041 eggs were laid during the week ending on Friday last, bringing the total to date up to 7,526. The average per pen for the week was 21.6. The following were the highest totals for the week:—H. F. Anderson's Wyandottes, 32; D. Sturrock's Black Orpingtons, 32; Allan Petrie's Silver Wyandottes, 30; Allan Petrie's White Leghorns, 30. The highest aggregates are: J. Jackman's Silver Wyandottes, 240; H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes, 232; W. Knight's Black Orpingtons, 228; T. Kennedy's Silver Wyandottes, 228.
