COAL LUMPERS' STRIKE. Received July 22, 10.35 a.m. SYDNEY, July 22. The coal lumpers will receive three-halfpence additional pay per hour for night work. The owners remain firm in regard to free labourers and permanent foremen, but have no objection in the case of casual foremen to employ unionists. RATES FOR SHEARING. Received July 22, 10.35 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 22. The Federal Arbitration Court has awarded an advance in rates to shearers from 22s to 24s per hundred, according to locality. A MALARIA STRICKEN VESSEL.
Received July 23, 1.5 a.m. SYDNEY, July[22. The barque Larton has arrived at Newcastle from Deh'goa Bay. Captain Boys and seven of the crew were stricken with malaria after leaving Delagoa Bay. The captain died, but the others have almost recovered. COINERS AT WORK. Received July 22, 10.35 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 22. A coining plant has been discovered in Dookie Agricultural College. A pantryman has been arrested. Received July 22, 10.35 a.m. HOBART, July 22. A complete coining plant has been discovered at Newtown, a suburb of Hobart. Several dies for halfscvereigns were found.
