(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln view of the interest shownin a the proposed Literary and Musical Competitions, to be held in Masterton, the following suggestions are made for the Committee's consideration :—l. That the Citizens' Committee form themselves into a'permanent Committee with power to add to their number. 2. That these Competitions be held annually. 3.|.That. each literary and musical institution in Masterton send one delegate to -represent them on the Committee. 4. The funds to be allocated as the Committee decide. Masterton is well off in musical institutions. We have the Municipal Band, Masterton South Band, the newly-formed Pipe Band, the District High School Band, Masterton Orchestral Society, Masterton Operatic Society, not to mention the literary and similar bodies. If their co-operation were invited all sources of friction would be removed and success to the undertaking practically assured.—l am, etc., ANOTHER CITI&EN.
