GRADUATED LAND TAX.
(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, July 19. The following is the schedule of the graduated land tax of the Land and Income Tax Bill, read a first time to-night in the House of Representatives:— Five thousand pounds to under £7,000, one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound; £7,000 to under £9,000, two-sixteenths of a penny; £9,000 to under £II,OOO, three-six-teenths; £II,OOO to under £13,000, four-sixteonths; £13,000 to under £15,000, five-sixteenths; £15,000 to under £17,500, six-sixteenths; £17,500 to under £20,000, sevensixteenths; £20,000 to under £22,500, eighth-sixteenths; £22,500 to under £25,000, nine-sixteenths; £25,000 to under £27,500, ten - sixteenths; £27,500 pounds to under £30,000, eleven-sixteenths; £30,000 to under £35,000, twelve-sixteenths; £35,000 to under £40,000, thirteen sixteenths.
