WEDDING.
MATHERS—HOUNSLOW. A wedding in which considerable interest was centred was celebrated in St. Matthew's Church, yesterday, the contracting parties being Miss Amy Matilda Hounslow, eldest daughter of the late Mr B. Hounslow, of Masterton, and Mr F. W. Mathers, fourth son of Mr W. Mathers, late of Woodville. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr B. Hounslow, and was tastefully attired in a handsome dress of white mervilleaux silk with a court train. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were Misses Annie and] Maud Hounslow, sisters of the bride. They wore becoming dresses of cream cashmere and pink chiffon hats. Messrs Joseph and George Mathers acted as groomsmen. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. M. Johnson. As the newly-wedded couple left the Church, Mrs Hunn played Wagner's " Wedding March" on the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Exchange Hall, at which a large number of guests were present. The usual toasts were honoured and good wishes extended to the newly-wedded couple. The bride, who is very popular in Masterton, received a large number of costly and useful presents. Mr and Mrs Mathers left Masterton, yesterday afternoon, for Palmerston North en route for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume with hat to match. In honour of the wedding a dance was held in the Exchange Hall in the evening, at which a large number of guests were present. The evening was spent in a very enjoyable manner. The catering was carried out in a capable manner by Mr J. P. Rankin.
