MINERS DETERMINED TO FIGHT TO A FINISH. Received July 15, 8.12 a.m. CAPETOWN, July 14. Four thousand strikers on the Rand are determined to fight to a finish. They will cable to the Labour bodies in Australia, New Zealand, and America asking for assistance. MR RAMSAY MACDONALD'S AID INVOKED. Received July 15, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, July 14. Mr R. L. Outhwaite, the anti Chinese labour advocate who unsucC2ssfully opposed Mr J. Chamberlain at the last general elections, in a letter to tfce Daily Chronicle, States that the miners a month ago apDlied to the British trade unions through Mr Rarsasay Macdonald for financial assistaii.ee or to compel the Imperial Government to withdraw the troops. No response, however, had been made. STRIKERS ADVISED XO RESUME WORK. Received July 15, 8.30 a.m. PRETORIA, Juiy 14. General Botha, replying to a deputation of miners, declined to legislate in favour of arbitration this year. He advised the mso to resume work. The deputation repudiated responsibility in the possible event of bloodshed, in view of the Cabinet's attitude. WHY KILFOIL'S HOTEL WAS BLOWN UP. Received July 15, 9.4 a.m. CAPETOWN, July 14. Until recently Kilfoil's Hotel at Boksburg had been the headquarters of the strikers, but shortly before the explosion a number of working miners were in the billiard room, and it is presumed that the explosion was directed against these.
