There was fine weather for the Grand National Steeplechase, which resulted as follows: —Divham 1, Maine 2, Boomerang 3. Sixteen started. Betting: 8 to 1 Decoration, Cardinal, Boisdale, and Boomerang, 2 to 1 Divham. Cardinal lost his rider at the first fence. The Swimmer, Decoration, Western, Seymour and The Trick fell. The latter was leading in the early part of the race. His coming to grief gave Divham command, and the latter was never again headed, winning easily by six lengths. Time, 6min 36fsec.
