WAIRARAPA VETERIANRY ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of members of the Wairarapa Veterinary Association was held on Saturday afternoon. Mr Q. Donald occupied the chair, and there were seven other members present. The annual report and balancesheet, as already published, were read and adopted. The Chairman commented upon the unsatisfactory position of the Association as disclosed in the report, and stated that it was a question of whether the Association should be wound up or carried on. The Association had not received the support it should have received from the farming community, and there was no doubt the farmers would miss the services of the Association if it were wound up. It was stated that the amount of the dr. balance (£lO5 4s) had been guaranteed by six members, and that it would be another year the engagement of the Association's veterinarian (Mr W. G. Taylor) terminated. Owing to the financial position of the Association, Mr Tayi lor had proposed to the Finance Committee that he should be given three months' notice. It was admitted that it would be no use carrying on the Association if the farmers did not want it. It was decided to accept Mr Taylor's resignation as from May 31st, and that members' fees be charged up to July 13th. With a view to wiping out the liabilities of the Association with no hardship to the guarantors, it was resolved to inform members that it was the wish of the committee that members should pay their guinea subscriptions for the current year. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Taylor for his services and the liberal treatment extended to the Association in releasing the guarantors from a further year's liability. A vote of thanks was also accorded to Mr G. H. Perry for his services as auditor.
