THE EXCHANGE OF SITES.
DEPUTATION WAIT ON HON. J. M'GOWAN. By Telegraph—Special to Age. WELLINGTON, July 8. A deputation from the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was introduced to the Hon. J. McGowan, to-day, by Mr A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., respecting the exchange of land for a courthouse site at Masterton. The case was forcibly placed before the Minister by Mr E. G. Eton and others. Mr Hogg asked for a compromise in the difference in the value of the sites, and suggested £SOO payable by instalments. The Minister said that if an exchange of sites was made the difference in value should be considered, and compensation given. He would, however, carefully consider all the circumstances, and submit his recommendation to Cabinet. The Minister congratulated the people of Masterton in having such an excellent institution as their Trust.
