A farewell social was tendered by the residents here to Mr F. Johnson and his sister, Mrs Duncan, who are leaving the district. During the evening Mrs Duncan was presented with a handsome silver cake dish, knife and fork, and Mr Johnson with inkstand. The presentations were made on behalf of the residents by Mrs Smith and Mr G. Donovan, respectively, who |j made eulogistic reference to the sterling qualities possessed by the recipients. A school concert, in aid of the Library Funds, will be held here on July 19th. The school children are being coached for the concert by Mrs Smith, and are making excellent progress."
