LATE FOOTBALL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 29. There were no Senior football contests to-day, the Auckland Rugby Union concluding the Senior Cup competition owing to the City winning the premiership last Saturday. An A and B match was played this afternoon to enable the selector to pick the Auckland team, the B's winning by 11 points to 3. Auckland will play Buller on July 13th, Thames on July 27th, and Hawke's Bay on August 10th —all in Auckland. There is much adverse comment in Auckland regarding the New Zealand Union's decision in making the Buller match a special contest, as the Buller team stated to the Auckland Union that their men were going on tour. The Union will probably protest at the meeting during the week. s NEW SOUTH WALES v. QUEENSLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Received June 29, 8.35 p.m. BRISBANE, June 29. In the football match, New South Wales defeated Queensland by 18 points to 3.
