Hukanui met and defeated Konini, at Konini, on Saturday, by 6 points (2 tries) to nil. Hukanui outclassed their opponents in all departments of the game, and the. score would probably have been larger had the ground been dry. Benge and Morris scored tries for Hukanui. Mr Chatwin was . referee. Hamua played Nireaha, at Nireaha, and were defeated by 11 points to 8. Mr Smith was referee. The following is the team selected to play for the Bush against Wairarapa Thursday representatives, at Eketahuna, on Thursday week, writes oar correspondent:—E. Main, Morris, Connor, Foss, Young, Popplewell, Bottomley, Swainson, R. Smith, J. Barnes, G. Smith, Johnston, Manahara, J. Hawkes, Henry. Emergencies— Backs, R. Cavanagh and Thompson; forwards, Bissett, J. Quinlan and Maxted. At Greytown, on Saturday last, Greytown defeated Gladstone by 9 points to nil. Haigh and Beard scored tries for Greytown, and Rogers kicked a penalty £oal. Ruahine defeated Carterton Juniors, on Saturday, by 17 points to nil. Martinborough defeated Featherston by 26 points to nil on Saturday last.
Private information has been received that the condition of Allan Adams, the ruined hi. University centro three-quarter, who was injured when playing football on June Bth, has become serious. It is feared that Adams is bleeding internally, and there are little hopes held out for /his recovery.
