WELSH DISESTABLISHMENT. Received June 18, 10.24 p.m. LONDON, June 18. Sir Henry Campbell-Bancrman assured a deputation of Welsh members of the House of Commons that the Government had the fullest desire and expectation to deal with the question of Welsh disestablishment as soon as possible during the present Parliament, but in view of the House of Lords question, he did not think it would be wise to fix a date. He was convinced that the measure would consolidate the Welsh national forces. Mr Asquith declared that it would be a matter of reproach if Parliament ended without the Bill passing all its stages.
