RAND MINERS' STRIKE.
CAPETOWN, June 14. In an interview with General Botha, Premier of the Transvaal, the mine owners offered to leave the strike dispute in the hands of the Mines Commission, but said they would not discharge the newly-engaged men. They intimated that upwards of a thousand men must remain stranded. Mr R. L. Outhwaite (the antiChinese labour man who opposed Mr Chamberlain for Birmingham) is going to England to raise funds. General Botha warned the deputation that it is impossible to keep the troops on the Rand indefinitely. He is unwilling to withdraw them during the strike.
