"' '• -■■ Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held a special clearing sale of live and dead stock at Konini, near Pahiatua, on Wednesday, and report on the same as follows:—There was an exceptionally large attendance of buyers, and a most satisfactory sale resulted. The breeding ewes elicited keen competition, the two lines of breeding ewes Belling at 23s Bd, beating our previous Wairarapa record of 22s 10a, which was obtained at Eketahuna. Ewe hoggets sold at 13s lid, fat ewes and wethers 16s 6d, wether hoggets 13s Id, 2-tooth rams 30a. The fact that no definite dates of calving could be given militated against the sale of the cowd, but notwithstanding this satisfactory prices were pbtained, ranging from £1 17s 6d to £6 12s 6d. Other prices were:—lß-month heifers 235, 2-year heifers 32s 6d, calves 18s, trap mare £25 15s, gig mare £ll, 3-year hack mare £B, pair 2-year light horses £l3, yearling foal by draught horse £9 ss, yeafjjng pony £lO 15s, pony foals £5 to £6. A lengthy list of harness, implements, sundries and furniture realised satisfactory prices. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on the clearing sale held on account of Captain Eliott at West Tara,tahi, yesterday: —Owing to the exceedingly rough state of the weather the attendance of the public was not large. Prices realised, however, were satisfactory to the vendor. The following were the prices realised:—Ewes in lamb 16s 9d, hogget 3 13s- 3d, Rorriney rams 7s Sd, 3J-year bullocks £5, 2Jyear steers £3 7s, 2£-year heifers £2 to £3, cows in calf £2 2s 6d, springing heifers £4, bulls £l, mare and foal £6, ponies £4 2s 6d to £B, dog cart £2l, horse, trap and harness £ls 10s, dray £6, and a number of sundries at current rates.
