FOOTBALL.
EKETAHUNA v. ROVER A. A match was played on the JMasterton Showgrounds, yesterday after'noon, between the Eketahuna and Rover A (Carterton) teams, and resulted in a win for the latter by three points'to nil. The game throughout was evenly contestejl, and play for the most part was confined to the forwards. The backs on either side did not have many chances. No score was registered until within a few minutes of time, when several of the Rover team came with a rush and scrambled over the line with the ball and scored. Owing to a late start having been made it was then almost dark, and not possible to see who put the ball over the line. Mr A. Millar was referee. ROVER B v. LIBERAL. By Telegraph—Special to Age. GREYTOWN N., June 13. The match played at Carterton, this afternoon, between Rover B and Liberal seniors, ended in a win for the Liberals by 8 points to 6. The game was a very fast one. Mr E. McKenzie was referee. ALBION 11. v. LIBERAL 11. By Telegraph—Special to Age. GREYTOWN N., June 13. The match, Albion Juniors v. Liberal Juniors, ended in a win for the Liberals by 8 points to 3. Mr H. Workman was referee. The following will represent Carterton against Gladstone, at Gladstone, to-morrow:— McKenzie (2), Thompson, Kellop, Crawley, Groube (2), Wadham, Armstrong, Hall, Johnson, Mason (2), Henderson and Bond. .
The Masterton Juniors will play a practice match with the Red Star Seniors on the Masterton Showgrounds, to-morrow afternoon. All members of the Masterton Junior team are requested to be present. Morris' name was omitted from the Red Star Junior team that is to play Featherston, at Cartertor, tomorrow.
